The term Vermouth is the Frenchification of a German term which indicated wine spiced with absinthe.

This drink has always been present in Europe, the first known descriptions arriving from the time of the Roman empire. This speciality came back to life in Piedmont an important whine producing area, in the second half of the 19th century, where it was served not only in the homes of the nobles with ice and a slice of orange, but also to the lower class in taverns. Garrone did not re-invent anything , the only thing that he did was bring to back to life what existed in his family tradition.

Time helped increase the range, creating specialities with a fruity taste. Vermouth is not a difficult thing to drink. You can drink it on its own or as a component of many cocktails.
